Thwarted by the weather - but not a view few see around the historic Scillonian III

πŸŽ™οΈ A little behind-the-scenes moment from our latest episode of Full Ahead, the podcast about ships and shipping
I had the pleasure of recording this special episode aboard Scillonian III and it was a real privilege to get such unique access to a vessel that means so much to the Isles of Scilly and the people who rely on it.
Despite bad weather which meant and we were unable to make the crossing from Penzance to St Mary’s it turned into something special.
Captain David Redgrave took us behind the scenes, from the bridge to the holds, engine room and beyond, sharing stories about the ship, the people who have served aboard her, and what the future might hold.
As someone behind the microphone, it’s always a pleasure to hear these stories first-hand, but being able to explore Scillonian III in this way made this episode particularly memorable.
The acoustics were amazing - engine room, deep holds, wind whipping around outside - listen and you feel like you were there!
🎧 Have a listen to the latest episode of Full Ahead and come aboard with us.
A huge thank you to David, Rachel Noon and everyone at the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group for making it possible.

In the engine room!
