The Morecambe Bay Podcast

Morecambe Bay straddles Lancashire and Cumbria and is one of the most biodiverse places in the country but it’s the people that make it special.

The podcast began as a post pandemic project. Encouraged by friends, I recorded half a dozen episodes of a podcast about the area in 2021. These featured some of the people who had made a difference during and just after lockdown.

The M.A.L.L.O.W.S swimming group, wildlife enthusiast Jon Carter and photographer Darren Andrews all had great stories to tell and were devoured by an eager audience!

Six soon became sixty and five years on, I’ve recorded over 150 episodes which are listened to in over 100 countries.

The ‘flat Northern vowels’ (as one reviewer commented) coupled with the sounds of the Bay seem to captivate listeners, no matter where they are. Kazakhstan is the latest country where we have listeners!
