Back on the Bay for summer 2026

One of my first clients when I began work as a freelance was for a charity that works to conserve and promote Morecambe Bay.

Morecambe Bay Partnership have a track record in making a difference around the Bay from creating a cycle path which recently celebrated an anniversary to running the popular Sunset Talks series which I was proud to take part in as someone who produces a podcast about the area.

More recently through DEFRA’s Our Future Coast project, campaigns to study and tackle erosion are underway and it is this work that has seen me take on a commission to help spread the word.

Using ingeniously designed structures, residents of Sunderland Point where the sea is clainming around a metre a year of land have worked with the charity to install what is hoped to be a network of arresting schemes.

Sunderland Point resident Moira Winters.

Seeing at first hand how a quarter of the area’s residents turned out to help was inspiring as this podcast and video shows.
